1 Do you agree with Karl Marx’s theory of class consciousness (specifically, for our purposes, the idea that working class consciousness does not yet match the existing social reality)?
Relativists argue that truth depends on one’s culture. In a sense, Hegel and Marx agree; however, they both think that “truth” is changing (or moving towards) a discernable end. So, ultimately, truth is not relative and those who fail to see this are like the prisoners stuck in Plato’s Cave.
