Review the Tips for Designing Teacher-Made Tests.
Watch the “Narrowing the Focus to a Few Clear Instructional Goals” video from Educational Impact. (Find the link to this video in this week’s Learning Activities folder.)
Select a state standard for a specific content area and grade level.
Write a learning goal and 1 to 2 learning objectives to meet the state standard you selected. Objectives should be S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely).
Create an assessment related to the standard and objective(s) that includes options for differentiation and a method for scoring. Minimize any potential bias that might distort the assessment results.
Provide an 700- to 1,050-word explanation of how you will:
Administer the assessment.
Analyze evidence of student learning.
Identify learner strengths and needs.
Promote learner growth and accountability.
Analyze your teaching practice and differentiate instruction in response to assessment results.
Document student learning.
Prepare to administer this assessment to learners in a small-group setting in Week 3.
Format your paper according to APA guidelines.
