• Compare and contrast through a series of written assignments the representation of Italy given by its own films with the representation offered by Hollywood;
• Analyze films as a representation of the political, economic, social and cultural history of Italy;
• Reflect on and articulate how meaning is created in and how experience is interpreted and conveyed by films through classroom discussions of readings and postings on Blackboard;
• Demonstrate knowledge of the skills involved in film production using logs;
• Produce a formal research paper and a film review using a well-written and organized bibliography to support their conclusions;
• Aster WEB 2.0 technologies to conduct research and to communicate with fellow students and the instructor.
