The exact discussion board prompt will vary each week, but every post has the
following requirements:
● Respond to the prompt in sufficient detail to support your argument.
● Provide an example to support your post. Often, this may be a link to a musical performance. Sometimes, it may be a website or an
article citation.
● Think outside the box. Even though you’re addressing a specific question each week, try also to think about links between different assignments and different experiences in this class – or even outside of class!
Different performances of the same piece can be dramatically different, even though the performers are following the same composer’s score. This listening exercise will provide you with practice in identifying such differences, and will also ask you to state which performance you prefer, and why.
