Peer Review Overview
A peer review is focused on the content, writing, and ideas expressed, not the individual and not one’s personal feelings about a topic. Be honest, kind, and supportive.
These reviews are not editing reviews. If you would like to give feedback on mechanics or APA format, in addition to the content, provide general feedback such as, ͞ Consider reviewing comma rules, I think I see too many extra commas.͟ Or, ͞ Check your APA in-text citations;
Also, keep in mind you will be reviewing a draft of a draft. Expect that things are unpolished and unfinished, but do not assume the writer knows what is missing. Provide feedback that will help the writer make improvements toward a polished, finished product. Review the peer review rubric for how you will be graded for peer reviewing.
