These abstracts are “snapshots” of a National Park Service managed area that is NOT a National Park. Each student will do one abstract selected from the following categories. Subsequent abstract are to be on different categories. 1. National Monuments, 2. National Battlefields, Battlefield Parks or Battlefield Sites, 3. National Recreation Areas, Seashores or Lakeshores, 4. National Historic Sites, Parks or Memorials, 5. National Scenic River, Trail or Wild and Scenic River. The abstract should include at least the following: 1. A description of the site, 2. Why is it significant and included in the system, 3. Location, 4. Why anyone would visit, 5. Why you selected this particular site.
