(1) discuss the importance of “first do no harm” with thoughtful examples in the student’s own words, (2) demonstrate a thorough understanding of the human body’s “innate ability to heal” including meaningful examples, (3) describe a process to comprehensively gather information to gain an understanding of the “underlying cause” of an illness or disease including specific examples, (4) demonstrate a thorough understanding of “treating the whole person” specifying examples of several aspects of the whole person that might contribute to illness, (5) discuss the physician’s role of “doctor as teacher” including specific methods and purposes for mentoring individual patients in ways to become healthy, and (6) describe the importance of “prevention” based on a review of a patient’s current conditions including examples.
