Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Arts Program works to showcase the potential of artists to act as civic leaders, drawing attention to and encouraging dialogue around pressing problems. The Public Art Challenge, founded to further this work, supports temporary public art projects that engage communities and enrich the quality of life in cities. The overall goal of these temporary public art projects is to “enhance the vibrancy of cities” by addressing important civic and social issues and encouraging public-private collaborations. You can read more about these project by visiting the Bloomberg’s Public Art Challenge website.
To what extent do you think these public art works will bring people together and strengthen these communities?
