Each person in this world is brought up from a different culture, background and has different beliefs. When you are little, most of us are taught right from wrong and some are not. Some people grow up in rich environments and some grow up in poor ones. My parents weren’t rich or poor but in the middle. I was told by them at a young age not to depend on anyone and to get the things I want in life, I need to work hard for. You have adults that teach their children to fight at a young age and then you have some adults that tell their children to mind their business and ignore it. I noticed that the young children always getting in fights when they are younger get in a lot more trouble when they reach their teenage years. I believe I’m the hardworking individual I am today because of my parents. I remember when I turned 16 and could get my license, my dad told me if I want to drive a car, I need to have a job to put gas in it. I was also taught that things you want bad enough in life never come easy and that things in life are earned, not given to you. My parents gave my sister, brother and I a lot of attention, encouragement and praise growing up. I was taught is you don’t succeed, try until you do and never give up. There was a time when I was in elementary school, and I remember my mom was out of work for a little because she had to take care of my brother and sister because she couldn’t afford daycare. My dad took on 3 jobs to make up for my mom being out of work. My dad wasn’t picky and would take any job he could get to support his family. You see some people today that won’t take certain jobs because either that’s not what they want or they don’t want to get dirty. There was a time when I was 4 and my mom took me to a gift shop that was in a museum. I saw a package of clay with all different colors in it. I asked my mom if she could buy it and was told “no”. I then hid the clay in my shirt and walked out of the store with it. When we got in the car, I took it out from my shirt, my mom saw it and brought me back in the store to apologize for taking it. That made me learn a lesson as a young child and I never stole anything again. You have some parents that wouldn’t have brought their child back in the store and would’ve just took the item away. By just taking it away, doesn’t teach a lesson.
