Description
Case Brief: Students are required to prepare a two page written “brief” for a court case or opinion contained in a primary text.
The Outline of the brief will be as follows
(1) Title and Citation of the Case (2) Brief Statement of the facts (3) Issue(s) presented in the Case that the Court must decide upon
(4) Holding(s) or decision(s) of the court on these issues
(5) Order of the Court
(6) Reasoning Employed by the Court to Support the holding(s) or decision(s)
(7) Major points or positions of the concurring or dissenting opinions and voting line up
of the judges(four for and five against etc)
