DIRECTIONS
Political Ideology
In paragraph form…what political system (ideology) does your system base their government on? According to Chapter 2, does the political system fall under a democratic or totalitarian system? Describe in detail the political process. When your country transitions (meaning newly elected officials taking office) does it experience any turmoil? State whether or not your country has wide vs. narrow participation AND how you know this. **Cite your sources.
Economic System and Development
In paragraph form…from the types of economic systems discussed in your text and in class, name the type of economic system that your country has. State the country’s GDP Per Capita, Purchasing Power Parity, average annual GDP growth rate, and level of human development* for your country. *Refer to the resources above for the Human Development portion of your research. Legal System
In paragraph form…state whether your country has a common, civil, or theocratic legal system. Compare and contrast the legal system of the United States and your chosen country’s legal system. How well does your country enforce property (deeds, tangible assets) and intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, and copyrights)? Is it common for property to be taken away from individuals and/or how much property does the government own/control? It is common for intellectual property rights to be ignored or stolen? In paragraph form…what are the main type(s) of political risk (kidnappings, policy changes, etc.) that can be found in your country? Then explain what causes the political risk such as corruption, ethnic conflict, etc. What are the main type(s) of economic risk (recession, unemployment, etc.) that can be found in your country?
