ASSIGNMENT
The purpose of this assignment is to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate
the ability to synthesize material from various sources (e.g, text, readings, lecture, notes,
etc) into a thoughtful and coherent written essay.
Instructions:
Summarize the material presented in class lecture supplemented by external resources.
The essay should be typed, double-spaced and stapled in 12 point Times Roman font with
1 inch margins on all four sides. Your essay should include the following topics: working
definition of criminology, criteria for theory evaluation, and methods for measuring the
nature and extent of crime
