You start the session by asking the youth and mentors about their weekend and week at school. The new mentor is not saying much and seems unsure how to engage in a conversation with the youth.
As the caseworker, you introduce the youth and mentors to an ice breaker activity. You notice that a few of the grade 8 youth are saying something in their first language and appear to be laughing at another youth. This youth appears left out and disengaged.
The mentors do not react or do anything in this situation.
