POLICY BRIEFING – Academy Schools
Evidence/research/evaluations that speak to how the policy met and did not meet its aims, and/or intended and unintended consequences.
For example: research or policy evaluations that would indicate some ways Academy Schools have had positive impacts (perhaps in a narrow sense of test scores, etc.) on student performance. Also research/evaluations that find where this policy has fallen short and/or has negatively impacted state schools, and in turn students attending those schools.
The format should
1) discuss the policy
2) explain the impacts, if it met/did not meet its aims
3) Recommendations– in this section, elaborate on the neoliberal influence of this policy and flaws/problems here
