ASSIGNMENT 3 – RESEARCH REPORT (35% OF YOUR FINAL MARK)

Assignment 3 is a research report of a small-scale study you’ll complete. Follow the structure of Introduction (including selective Literature Review), Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion (IMRDC) (See Chapter 3 of your Interactive Text). Since you have already submitted a literature review (Assignment 2), only a selective part of it (significant sources and arguments) should be included in the Introduction.
Assessment criteria for Assignment 3
Your research report of your completed study will be assessed based on the following criteria.
Introduction (25%)
- Effective introduction of the topic and its significance.
- Statement of the purpose of the research; the aims of the study and research questions.
Methods (25%)
- Use of an appropriate research method
- Clear statement of the sample and data collection procedures
- Appropriate method and explanation of data analysis procedures
Results and discussion (25%)
- Clear and appropriate presentation of results (tables, figures, etc.)
- Appropriate discussion of results (interpretation of results and discussion of results in light of previous results as reviewed in the literature review)
Presentation: Language and writing (25%)
- Clear and coherent expression of ideas (Clear and accurate use of words and sentences)
- Concise writing style
- Appropriate use of academic language and writing conventions.
- Appropriate and consistent referencing (APA)
- One-to-once correspondence between works cited and works listed in the references.
