Inclusion & Special Population Debate Instructions

You will be participating in a Debate Discussion Board in this module related to how prepared American colleges and universities are related to inclusion and student populations. Create an initial discussion board post articulating your position. Your initial post should include:
- A clear statement of your perspective. (remember to state what American institution and what student population)
- A discussion of the characteristics of the student population and how this informs their needs on the campus.
- Examples of student affairs programs, services, initiatives either available or unavailable at the institution that support your perspective.
- A discussion of what philosophy or philosophies of difference you see in the institution’s efforts (see the article attached provided by Manning). The philosophies range from political correctness to social justice. You may see evidence of more than one. What evidence leads you to feel this is the philosophy adopted by the units/institution and how does this enhance your overall position about the institution’s ability to support student success for the population?
- You should include at least two academic/professional sources to support your response. APA in-text citations and reference list are required. You will find attached resources info on Diversity in Student Populations and Affairs with resources.
