For this week’s assignment, you are to construct a timeline of various educational policy reforms and practices that have occurred since 2000, along with one or two sentences on the reform’s impact to the story of the educational pendulum. Be sure to also investigate specific areas that are of importance to your vein of interest. More specific, be sure your timeline also connects to some of the changes since 2000 that have impacted your profession and/or area of expertise.

This assignment will be an opportunity for you to be creative and add to the history of how our schools came to be in this nation. You may do this a number of ways but however you choose to do it, please be creative by using illustrations/pictures along with a few words/sentence or two to describe the period of education and theme that you are referencing. You can be as creative as you wish, selecting the medium that works best for you (e.g. PowerPoint, Prezi, Web-based, etc…)

Some examples of policy reforms and/or policies that you may want to touch upon include, but are not limited to, such areas as: NCLB, ESSA, Standardized Testing, Common Core implementation, State Standards, California School Dashboard, Bilingual Education Act, Special Education Reform, LCAP, LCFF, NGSS, Social-Emotional Learning, Digital Learning, School Safety Planning, Distance learning, the Flipped Classroom, etc….). For this assignment, you should be able to identify and describe a minimum of 20 policy reforms and/or practices that have occurred since 2000.

At the end of your timeline project, please include a conclusion that summarizes your thoughts which focus on evaluating how the role of schools has evolved over time.
