I. From your readings and reflections, define and describe the Christian doctrine Creation Ex Nihilo, describing how it reflects the sum of biblical teaching. Also, describe how it differs from other views of the universe and nature. Finally, how does is show us the ‘gift’ character of creation?
II. Describe the various approaches to interpreting the biblical account of creation. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the various views?
III. Define human beings as creatures made in the image of God. What is the importance of this biblical teaching for our understanding of our purpose in this world? How does it serve to promote an ethic of the gift character of all human beings? What happens to this image as a result of the fall? How is it restored in Christ’s person and work?
