The research is based on qualitative constructivist paradigm and data collected in inductive direction. This means that participants´ meanings are in the core of the research and the output of this is research resulted in grounded theory concept. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observations. Altogether, 28 groups of respondents from different sites participated in the research. Because parents, teachers, school principals, and school administrators can be members of Eco-teams and that is why schools´ employees were asked to get involved in the research in order to get a more complex view of the issue under the study. The focus of the study is mainly on the implementation of the programme within the school environment and therefore pupils´ parents were not involved in the research. Two separated groups of respondents can be distinguished – pupils and adult respondents.
The main research question is, what is the state of Eco-schools in the Czech Republic?
The main hypothesis is: Various conditions among schools have a significant impact on the level of implementation of the Eco-schools program.
