Write an essay that describes how urban political machines gained and maintained their power in the nineteenth century. Your essay should explain the strategies machine “bosses” used to achieve support from voters and describe how they used the American political system to their advantage. Also important is to recognize that despite the overwhelming corruption, political machines benefited poor citizens in a way no one else would or could.
Use three academic sources one being my textbook “Vision of America; A history of the United States” by Jennifer D. Keene, Saul Cornell, and Edward T.O’Donnell. (Third edition) Use and cite from the Revel ebook, include two additional sources such as .edu/ .gov/ .org websites
-At the end of the essay include a references section listing the sources used.
-Response must contain a minimum of 750 words (maximum 1000)
-standard introduction, body conclusion with a compelling thesis is expected.
