You are required to submit a written report that takes an aspect of legal practice experience and critically examines the context in which this has occurred.
This assessment requires an academic analysis of the law and consideration as to whether it accurately reflects the reality of practice. This assessment provides an opportunity for you to engage in a legal analysis of the law in practice and bring your academic skills to bear on the practical work that you have conducted in the Student Law Office.
You may wish to look for academic points of law that you have encountered in real life and consider the extent to which your understanding of the law in this area fully addresses the reality of practice. You may wish to examine unexpected issues you encountered; the extent to which the practice of law differed from the account given in textbooks; the extent to which the law is shown to work effectively and equitably in real life; and/or whether there is a need for law reform.
