ASSIGNMENT
Suppose you have been appointed the incoming Dean of Education for a prominent university preparing teachers for careers in K-12 schools. You have been given a free hand in redesigning the entire curriculum for pre-service teacher training, including options to (a) require a bachelor’s degree in an area of specialization, (b) require a one- semester long teaching internship the second semester of the first year of the program in addition to a longer internship toward the end of the program, (c) require specific training in designing, developing, and evaluating technology-intensive lessons, and more.
You have been given a generous budget (US$1 million per year for the next five years) that allows hiring additional faculty and acquiring new technologies. What changes would you propose, why, and how would you go about implementing those changes?
