There are many social issues that humans can face (e.g., incarceration, substance use, housing, medical decline, financial hardship, etc.), but they may look differently in the aging population compared with those in other life stages.
Examine a social challenge related to the aging population. Elaborate on the topics in this course or explore a relevant topic not covered in the class. In three pages (not including cover or reference page), identify a social issue faced by the aging population.
1) Identify and define the issue (e.g., housing);
2) Explain how the aging population is impacted by the issue – utilize some outside sources to strengthen your claims;
3) Identify and briefly explain programs and/or policies in place to ameliorate the impact of the issue you are discussing on the aging population.
