Topic: The Negative Externality of Consumption effect of combustion engine cars on the public health and finance sector
RQ1: To what extent would a diesel car tax and/or ban lead to a positive socio-economic impact in the UK?
Aim: To identify the decrease in negative socio-economical externalities and costs resulting from a proposed diesel car tax and/or ban in the UK .
Assumption 1: Diesel cars create a large socio economic cost to society each year ranging from health problems to environmental damage, a diesel ban would lower the negative externality on society.
Assumption 2: Diesel fumes are detrimental to the public health and a ban would reduce the expenditure on health care and the transition costs would over time very quickly be regenerated.
The EU (applies to UK) is expected to comply with euro 6 regulations (must be mentioned)
